They've been on the Vansycle ridge for about 5 years now, and I've been meaning to get up near them to both photograph them, and to get a sense of their scale.
Its great to see the Stateline Wind Energy Center take form, especially considering this is all taking place near the little town I grew up in: Touchet, Washington.
There are about 380 of these massive generators strewn over a what we used to call the "Oregon Hills". With a hint from my cousin we found the road that took us right to the base of a few. The sun had already set, but there was a nice orange sky and the view of the Columbia River (Lake Wallula) with the Tri-Cities in the distance was breathtaking. Even more rewarding was the tops of both Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams to the west.
