The family and I packed into the 'burb for a Labor Day road trip; this year our destination was Lake Osoyoos in the desert of southern British Columbia, a stone's throw across the border from Tonasket, Washington. While the warmest lake in Canada was where we stayed, it was not our only destination.

The main reason for the trip was our interest in a small, dry lake called "Spotted Lake" 6 miles to the north-northwest of the town of Osoyoos. After a doing a little research on a passing mention of it I discovered that this geologic oddity was our own backdoor.
